The Pilgrim's Gauntlet is a location in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.

Overview

The Pilgrim's Gauntlet is an area in the labyrinth of Bitterblack Isle. A constant fire burns amongst ruins long forgotten. The layout of the area will be familiar to locations previously explored, being similar in architecture and design to other areas such as the Garden of Ignominy.

It can be accessed through the Fortress of Remembrance.

Enemies

Cursed Dragon in the Pilgrim's Gauntlet

Players can use the scripted appearance of the Cursed Dragon to Dragonforge their equipment. Cursed Dragons offer a 40% chance to upgrade any zero star enhanced equipment, and a whopping 75% chance to Dragonforge any three star enhanced equipment.

A Maneater will hide in a chest in the entrance to the alcove that leads to the "Recollections of another Arisen" tablet.

Pre-Daimon

The area is home to several Pyre Saurians, a number of Spiders, Giant Bats; Corrupted Pawns will allay the party in the first floor courtyard. On the first visit to the area, after picking up the Void Key, a Cursed Dragon will spawn in the first floor courtyard.

On subsequent visits, the party may encounter Giant Geo Saurians, a family of Cyclopes (one regular, one armored, one miniature), as well as further Corrupted Pawns, and a chance to battle yet another Cursed Dragon.

Post-Daimon

Post-Daimon, either Pyre Saurians, Hellhounds, Wraiths and a Firedrake or Pyre Saurians, Banshees, two Golems, and Sirens can be encountered. Additionally, Death may randomly appear.

Loot

A Void Key for the locked gate to Tower of Treasons Repaid and two Macabre Sculptures are found here.

Useful items that can found include Bitterblack Gear Lv.1, Rift Cluster and periapts from gather spots; also Large Coin Pouches, Rift Crystal, Harspud Sauce, Sleeper Arrow and Demon's Periapts from breakable containers. Ore deposits often yield Hunk of Platinum, as well as Lava Rock.

• The voice of a Dead Arisen can be heard in a location here.
• Rancid Bait Meat will summon a Cursed Dragon if placed in the courtyard in the middle of the first floor. If the Cursed Dragon does not immediately spawn, it will spawn upon leaving and reentering.
