Get alula wing destroyed dragon roar

Dragon Roar on destruction of wing, and drop of Great Dragon Alula.

Dragon Roar is a special skill unique to all Dragons, lesser and greater.

Description[]

All Dragons have a powerful roar attack which may inflict Skill Stifling on the Arisen and instantly renders unconscious all Pawns within range.

Destroying the horns (Dragon Horn) or wings (Great Dragon Alula) causes Dragons to rear up and roar. Once the both horns and wings are destroyed a Dragon will roar without reason periodically.

The roar has a limited, yet long and wide, range so will always affect any Pawns in sight. Party members behind the Dragon may be unaffected.

The Cursed Dragon's roar is different in that it inflicts Possession on pawns.

Notes and tactics[]

  • Silence does not prevent the Dragon Roar.
  • The Dragon Roar can be interrupted on lesser Dragons by quickly inflicting enough damage to its heart, head, or even arms to stagger it, before the dragon can fully rear up on its hind legs and initiate the roar. The Dragon will still roar once it recovers.
    • If the Dragon is interrupted just as it roars it will prevent it roaring.
    • Destroying two horns quickly was result in two roars in succession.
  • In addition to its traditional roar the Ur-Dragon roars on landing - this does not skill stifle or make unconscious pawns, but occasionally will remove enchantments and other Invigorations.
  • Though usually associated with damage to the horns or wings, Dragons may roar in a battle for other reasons, possibly when at below half health.

Pawn specific[]

  • Mage pawns with a Legion's Might staff will self-resurrect after a Dragon Roar or conventional death. Although the staff has one of the lowest attack stats out of all Mage staffs, its special function allows the Arisen to not worry about reviving this pawn.
  • The Dark Arisen augment Tenacity does not protect against the Dragon Roar.
  • Though Carrying usually prevents harm coming to a carried pawn, with a Dragon's roar the Arisen will be staggered and drop the pawn, and they then rendered unconscious. (Stability can prevent being staggered and thus protect the pawn.)
    • Jumping whilst carrying a pawn, or throwing a carried pawn, may avoid them being harmed.
