Possession

Possession is a debilitation in Dragon's Dogma. There are tow forms of Possession - the most serious, usually inflicted by Dragonkin, will cause a loyal pawn to be turned, and seek to attack its master; another form is inflicted by some Ghosts, and causes health loss and reduced movement.

The curatives that will clear Possession are:

Pawns will use curative items when necessary, they may also be freed of Possession by slaying them and reviving them.

Equipping pawns with equipment resistant to Possession can reduce or eliminate the the risk of them falling victim to this debilitation. Some equipment like the Plebian Shirt or Cloth Greaves are easily obtainable and offer 100% defense when Dragonforged

Ghost possession

Arisen and pawns can be possessed by Ghost type enemies, including Phantoms, Phantasms, and Specters. The ghost possession typically drains health and slows movement, and can be broken by the attack of an ally on the possessed victim.
