'Mother' Saurian in Dripstone Cave
Giant Saurian is an Enemy in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.
Overview
As the name suggests they are gigantic versions of the regular Saurians and can be found throughout Bitterblack Isle. Although roughly the size of an Ogre, they are weaker than those, albeit stronger than a regular Saurian.
Giant Saurians, like their smaller cousins, are moderately intelligent and possess a sort of social structure, tending to operate in groups called basks.
They surpass humans in terms of brute strength and defense and can expertly use their hunting spears to block any frontal attack. They can also spit poison globs from their mouths to debilitate enemies that attempt to engage them from range.

Notes and Tactics
- Giant Saurians can be climbed, but are too big to be grappled.
- The creature found in Dripstone Cave during the quest Deeper Trouble is an exception - it cannot be climbed, and does not drop the rarer items found only on Bitterblack Isle (see Saurian § Saurian King).
- Removing the tail makes the Saurian considerably weaker.
- Susceptible to Freezing.
- Tactics that provide Bestiary Knowledge for regular Saurians may be learned from fighting the Giant version, but it appears that they do not contribute to the kill count for Saurians.
