Force Hatchet is a DLC weapon available in Dragon's Dogma.
Description[]
- "This scythe-like blade grows in power with each successive strike the wielder delivers without taking damage. However, at maximum power, being hit drops Stamina to 0."
Striking foes with the Force Hatchet without being hit oneself gradually increases the wielder's physical attack power.
After ten strikes, the weapon becomes fully charged, indicated by blue 'flames' rising from the Arisen. Physical attack power is doubled, but being hit or staggered causes loss of all stamina as well as the weapon's charge.

Ten strikes on foes are required to fully activate this weapon's power. Each strike increases attack power by a further 10%, giving double attack power after ten strikes.
There are three visual stages of intensity of the attack power boost, indicated by a blue glow on the user's arms and upper body. Activation of each stage in indicated by a distinct "chime" and the spread of the blue blaze to the wrists, to the arms, and then to the entire upper body.
The physical damage from secondary weapons is also boosted: both Shields and Shortbows.
Weapon effects stack with Strength Boosted (e.g., Conqueror's Periapts).
Magick power is not increased. Neither the magick power of weapons with enchantments, nor the spells from Magick Shields benefit from Force Hatchet.
Thrown Damage (including Foreign Knife) is not increased, but the power of Blast Arrows is.
Stamina loss[]
Once activated, the power boost from this weapon can be almost permanent, provided one is not hit or staggered.
- The power boost is also lost if the user enters another region, i.e., via use of a Ferrystone, or crossing through doors or gates (any loading screen).
- The augment Stability does not prevent the loss of charge from wind buffets.
- Minor staggering (such as briefly standing in a campfire), non-damaging spells (such as Blearing even if they fail to debilitate), and creatures' songs will all cause loss of charge.
- Dragon roars will remove the charge, even at range.
- The charge is not lost due to Fall Damage.
- Liquid Vim negates any stamina loss incurred by being hit while using this weapon.
Tactics[]
- This weapon is particularly effective for Assassins who use bows as the Strength bonus also affects bows.
- Mystic Knight sword's magickal abilities will grant charges upon dealing damage, thus Great Cannon allows fast and safe charge gain.
- Though magick is not boosted, spells that have a physical component benefit; this includes Magick Cannon and Abyssal Anguish type spells to a modest extent.
- Grappling or kicking other people such as pawns or guards will also give charges.
- Multiple strike skills such as Full Moon Slash or Sheltered Assault are effective for rapidly charging this weapon to full power.
Location[]
- In Dragon's Dogma, purchased as a part of Weapon Pack: The Debilitator DLC. Received for free, and can then be purchased at The Black Cat.
- In Dark Arisen, this must be purchased from The Black Cat.

Notes[]
- When the wielder's character Strength is over 838 this weapon becomes the most powerful in the game when fully charged, exceeding even Devilsbane.
- This applies to all Fighter and Assassin sword attacks.
- The weapon is not powerful when used with Mystic Knight sword spells as there is no boost to magick, and when character Strength is not factored into the spell.
- The power gain will sometimes increase power enough to cross Defense Break thresholds, resulting in much greater relative increases in damage compared to the doubling of power.
- The archistaff Caged Fury has a similar effect and boosts magic.
- In Dark Arisen, this weapon can be gifted to another Pawn.
