Challenge Pack - A Trial for Adventurers

Description[]

Seasoned Arisens! Experience the next level of adventure with two new modes: Speedrun Mode and Hard Mode.

This pack added a Speedrun Mode and Hard Mode to Dragon's Dogma via an "Extra" option in the Main Menu screen.

Both modes have been incorporated into the base Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen game.

Speedrun Mode[]

Main article: Speed Run.

Speed Run mode is a time challenge mode in which the aim is to complete the game in the shortest possible time. A previous save game can be used to initiate a speed run, including all earned items, skills and character development.

Successfully completing a speedrun earns the rewards Forest Tunic Set and a Set of Caretaker's Garb. Items used are not used in the player's main save, allowing unsparing use of tonics and periapts.

Hard Mode[]

Main article: Hard Mode.

Hard mode gives greatly increased difficulty. Stamina use is increased and enemies do greatly increased damage. In compensation enemies drop much greater rewards, such as Giant Coin Pouches, and Experience and Discipline Points gain is doubled.

The armor sets Abyssinal Outfit and Set of Duke's Clothing are rewards for completing the game in Hard Mode.

Notes[]

  • There were two hairstyles that appeared with this DLC in Dragon's Dogma, nos. 49 and 50, corresponding to Barnaby's and Selene's hair. However, in order to unlock them in the original game, the Bonus Pack: A Boon for Wanderers must have been purchased prior to its discontinuance.
    • Those two hairstyles have since been incorporated into the character editor in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.

Bugs[]

  • (BUG) Please note: This DLC is no longer available to download from the Xbox LIVE marketplace or the PSN Store, due to the fact that this DLC has a very high rate of corrupting any Dragon's Dogma or Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen save-game file. As such Capcom decided to take this DLC down to avoid further issues.
    • Capcom said it had determined that the corruption issue was caused by a conflict between the DLC packs "Trial for Adventurers" and "A Boon for Wanderers", both of which were DLC packs available to Dragon's Dogma players. Capcom claims these conflicts were eliminated when all Dragon's Dogma DLC was incorporated into the Dark Arisen version of the game.[1]
    • It is, however, possible to re-download this DLC if it was been purchased previous to its discontinuance by accessing "Download History" on the player's console.
