Notes and tactics[]

Skill Hits Max hits
per second
Sheltered Spike 5 ~2½
Sheltered Assault 10 ~4
Sheltered Fusillade 15 ~5
  • Every stab requires separate pressing of skill button. Lesser than maximum number of hits can be utilized but skill stamina cost will be spent anyway.
  • These skills strike very fast (on par with speed of Thousand Kisses), deploy quickly, and guard against frontal assaults, and allow quick recovery.
    • Since the new block is raised with every rapid stab even if one's guarding stance gets broken it gets immediately resumed. In this regard the skill is a good alternative to Divine Defense against non-grab attacks.
    • Very useful for inflicting all kinds of debilitations.
    • Efficient with Holy enchanted swords as allows to be healed multiple times in a row.
    • The difference in power between the skill tiers is negligible. (see Skill Multiplier Data).

Barehanded Assault

  • Without a sword these skills perform a fast Unarmed Combat punching action. Damage is boosted by Bloody Knuckles.
  • Damage is done with the primary weapon, the shield itself is not a factor in the damage done, or debilitations inflicted.
    • Additionally this skill does not benefit from any equipment giving shield power boosts.
  • The user's block is held whilst using this skill - meaning attacks are deflected.
  • Some pawns may have issues using the skill, employing it at too far a range, resulting in none of the strikes hitting - as the foe is undamaged the pawn will continue this behaviour, eventually depleting their stamina.
  • (BUG) Use of this skill against an exploding Stout Undead may cause the game to freeze.
